March 2022

Tues 1st

Devizes Camera Club presents:

‘Britain’s Best Landscapes and How to Photograph Them’

Tuesday 1st March at 7.30pm

Sports Club, London Rd, Devizes, SN10 2DL

Drawing on his recently published book of the same title, Robert starts by asking how much of landscape photography is the result of planning and what is down to luck? He will show how photographic vision can be realised by innovative composition, effective use of colour, the most suitable light, season and weather, and by capturing a moment or telling a story. In the second half Robert suggests how to develop a personal style, using his experience as an environmental scientist to show how understanding water, Sun, Moon and tides characterises his photography.

Everyone welcome…

Club meetings are held at Devizes Sports Club, London Rd, Devizes SN10 2DL.

The Revlon Girl @ Wharf Theatre, Devizes

From: March 28, 2022, till April 2, 2022,

Set eight months after the Aberfan disaster, The Revlon Girl tells the real-life story of a group of bereaved mothers who met every week to talk, cry and even laugh without feeling guilt.
At one of their meetings, they secretly arrange for a representative from Revlon to come and give them a talk on beauty tips.
This is a play packed with character and heartache, entwining the restraints, gossip and sometime irrationality of a small-town community, with the poignancy of a mother’s loss. There are many humorous, uplifting and hopeful moments, allowing this piece to bring much emotion and entertainment to its audience.
