Tributes to Chippenham’s community activist, poet, actor, and event compere Brian Reid poured onto social media today, as the sad news of his passing spreads…
Known as the “Midweek Mojo,” Brian Reid was renowned and much loved in the Chippenham community. A prominent figure in the Wiltshire arts scene, hosting open mic nights at the Old Road Tavern in Chippenham and The Lamb in Trowbridge.
Brian loved performing spoken word poetry at local festivals like Eco-Future Fest; if it was happening in Chippenham, Brain Reid was somehow involved.
He co-organised the local community arts and music festival ChippFest, alongside Andy Thatcher. He was a DJ at Chippenham FM and collaborated on spoken word recordings with local artists, such as Will Lawton and the Alchemists, featuring on his song “Soul Sneeze.”
